What was cuban missile crisis?
It occured during the cold war.
At that time Cuba was a communist ruled country and the geographical location
of Cuba is very close to U.S.A. The ideology adopted by U.S.A. is of capitalism
which is against communism and so U.S.A. can overthrow Cuban president Fidel
Castro at any time to absorb this country in capitalism. This very thought
disturbs Russia as the ideology war was going on. Russia decided to establish
its military bases in Cuba. Now U.S.A. got disturbed to see the rising russian
military bases in Cuba. As Cuba is located very near to U.S.A. so it was deemed
as a threat to the latter. To cope up this situation U.S.A. intercepted russian
military ships to Cuba and this in turn annoyed russia. Somehow this issue was
settled in talks and it did not lead to the outbreak of another war. Both
of these superpowers knew that war will lead only to the destruction of both
countries. None of them can win over the other. Even if one may win then hardly
one can say that it is the winner. Cuban missile crisis is the peak of cold war
where situation became hotter between these two superpowers.
