                  “Two major points of life”

It is said that desires are the root cause of suffering. But if there is no desire then how can we live. There will be no force which makes the cycle of our life move. This wese saying must have meant something else. We must have misinterpreted these golden words. On the other hand, it is being said that desires are life. This thought is easily comprehensible for a social being. A social being goes on pursuing desires one after the other, for the whole of his life. For him life comprises of desires and it is nothing else but desires. The second thought is more comprehensible and seems to be more practical whereas former thought seems to be utopia. One who believes in former thought does not care for the latter, and vice versa. But according to me these two thoughts are not contradictory, but complementary. Both of these thoughts are true. Our life has two points, one is the fixed central internal neutral point and the other is a movable. Fixed central internal neutral point symbolizes spirituality in a human being and the movable point symbolizes the social life of a being. Movable point relates to desires, and that point keeps on jumping from one rung of the ladder of desires to the other, and it keeps on moving higher and higher. Whereas the fixed central internal neutral point keeps on observing the outer social movable point in a very neutral manner. It never interferes the outer point. It lets the outer point play its role and keeps on playing its neutral role. When these two points functions as such, then this is the case of a normal man, or we can say supernormal man as now a days normal men have become abnormal because of the unquenchable thirst of materialistic desires. When these two points start malfunctioning or starts interfering with each other, then the supernormal man becomes normal or abnormal. Malfunctioning of these two points may also lead to criminal activities and may prove hazardous to the society. To understand this better, let us take a realistic example. Suppose if you do not have any desire then what will you do? You will just be sitting at your home doing nothing. Everybody knows that an idle mind is devil’s workshop. You must have noticed whenever you are sitting idle doing nothing, devil must have played wicked roles within your mind and nobody can deny this. You must have thought, “I should steal my neighbour’s car. My life is so terrible, I don’t know why I am living this stupid life. I don’t know why I have married to such an irritating girl. ” Thoughts as such often haunts our minds in our idle time. The astonishing fact is that, despite we know our thoughts are silly, destructive and futile, we keep on thinking and energizing these thoughts. So externally for the outward social life desires are needed to draw our life on the positive constructive track. Our life has energy, and that energy can not remain stable in one position. It keeps on moving either one way or the other. If you do not pull it towards the positive track, then it will automatically find its way on the negative track. So we should have positive and constructive  desires externally in our social life, but more importantly simultaneously we must have central internal neutral fixed point which keeps on observing these outer activities. Our actuality is the internal central point whereas the external point is just the role play. These two points never joins and are at a distance always. When external point of life fails to achieve its desires, then internal point just observes it and smile. Internal point just enjoys what external point is doing. It absolutely does not matter to the internal point whether the external point is winning or losing. In both of these cases the internal point just keeps on enjoying the success and failures of the external point. So for a successful and spiritual life, one must keep himself focused on these two points as one leads to social success and the other spiritual. A happy life is nothing but the proper balance between external and internal point.
